iWay Software Releases Enterprise Integration Suite 2002

New iWay Release Integrates Web Services, Packaged-Application Exploration, and XML Transformations With Expanded Third-Party Support

Information Builders Summit 2002 – Baltimore, MD – May 21, 2002 – iWay Software, an Information Builders company that accelerates business integration, today announced its Enterprise Integration Suite 2002. The new release brings together technologies that make integration more graphical and less skills intensive, while also making it possible to use other vendors' offerings more effectively.

iWay has released two new tools that dramatically reduce the complexity of creating Web services from existing applications and legacy assets. The iWay Business Services Engine creates Web services from ERP and other packaged applications, legacy systems, and databases. It automatically creates all necessary XML documents and coordinates the actions of the iWay adapters needed to access these systems. The Business Process Registry provides a graphical environment to coordinate e-business processes using ebXML, an emerging industry standard that manages the definition and execution of transactions using Web services.

iWay has also expanded its offering for vertical marketplaces, including the financial services, healthcare, automotive, and government markets. The financial services and healthcare solutions help companies support requirements stemming from T+1 and HIPAA legislation. They receive documents in industry-standard formats and respond by managing integrated business processes that produce other industry-standard response documents. These integrated solutions include the capabilities to work with SWIFT, FIX, and ISO 15022 standards for financial services, and HIPAA and HL7 standards for healthcare. In addition, specific product modifications have been made to support regulatory requirements where necessary. Similar products and initiatives are in place for the Standards for Technology in Automotive Retail (STAR) Group in the automotive industry. Finally, a complete collaborative environment, called the iWay Security Exchange, is available for federal, state, and local governments. The iWay Security Exchange provides a way to help organizations request information and rapidly respond to requests from other agencies, while still maintaining control of their own processes, policies, and security.

These solutions incorporate enhancements to iWay's Intelligent Adapter Suite, which now numbers more than 200 adapters in all. Capabilities include new or enhanced support for applications such as SAP R/2, SAP R/3, Siebel Systems, and Oracle E-Business Suite; document formats such as SWIFT, FIX, and a variety of others; messaging systems, such as native support for TIBCO RendezVous; and databases, including specialty databases such as MUMPS. The Intelligent Adapter Suite ensures that virtually any information infrastructure will be available for use with products from iWay and iWay's partners.

These adapters can be used from any industry-standard tool or custom application using iWay's connectors, which expose iWay adapters in standard ways. In addition to the existing set, which includes ODBC, JDBC, XML, and others, iWay Enterprise Integration Suite 2002 includes a recent addition for the Java™ Connector Architecture (JCA) and an upcoming connector for Java Data Objects (JDO). All of these adapters are available to users of iWay's products through the Business Services Explorer, which looks into each system and determines what customizations have been made, what documents are available, and the data formats needed to interact with them. Without writing a line of code or leaving the Business Services Explorer user interface, users can identify the information they need out of the thousands of choices available to them in a typical information system.

The iWay Enterprise Integration Suite has been certified to work with products from partners such as IBM, including the latest versions of WebSphere MQ (formerly MQSeries), WebSphere MQ Integrator, WebSphere Application Server, and the recently acquired CrossWorlds Interchange Server; Microsoft, including BizTalk Server, SQL Server 2000, and Data Transformation Services; Oracle, including Oracle 9i Application Server; and BEA's WebLogic Server. Product enhancements have been made specifically for these environments, ensuring high performance and seamless integration.
