How It Works

The iWay Adapter for Siebel Systems "listens" for "trigger" processes within Siebel Systems that occur as a result of a Siebel business event. A business event such as customer update can be configured within the iWay XML eBusiness Adapter to post a document to a IBM MQSeries, Microsoft MSMQ, or Oracle AQ queue, file receive function, HTTP POST, or SOAP message formats. The iWay Service Manager transforms the incoming Siebel XML to an iWay XML request document that is then converted to the desired output type. The iWay XML request document is the connection into the iWay infrastructure, allowing integration of countless back-end platforms, systems, and application environments such as CICS or IMS. The iWay XML Transformation Workbench and message broker flow-management tools can be used to transform these XML documents into a number of XML and non-XML formats, including cXML, xCBL, ebXML, SAP IDoc, OAG BOD, SQL, ANSI X.12 EDI, UN/EDIFACT EDI, SWIFT, FIX, and HIPAA.

The Application Systems Adapter for Siebel supports integration with Siebel via Siebel's Business Integration Manager (BIM) facility, using COM business services and Siebel XML, and utilizes native Siebel business objects and functionality. It provides open access to Siebel eBusiness Applications from any other application or database. The adapter can be integrated into application server environments, using COM or Java connectors. All Siebel metadata is exposed as XML request documents and Web services WSDL formats.
