SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) is an industry-owned cooperative providing messaging services to banks, broker-dealers and investment managers as well as to market infrastructures in payments, treasury, securities, and trade. SWIFT has an extensive network that provides connectivity to over 7,000 financial institutions in 192 countries processing over 2 billion messages in the SWIFTAlliance and SWIFT FIN networks.
The iWay SWIFT Adapter integrates SWIFT messages with iWay Service Manager to integrate internal trading and settlement systems with external counterparties. The adapter extends Java JMS, IBM MQSeries, Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ), and Oracle Advanced Queuing (AQ) reliable high-performance messaging to applications within the enterprise. Applications can automate manual processes to improve end-to-end processing, reduce errors, and reduce costs by eliminating manual processing.

Accelerate SWIFT Integration
The iWay Service Manager has an extensive SWIFT message library and parsing engine. This is used to format complex SWIFT messages with the routing controlled by leading application servers, message brokers, and queue managers. The iWay SWIFT adapter adheres to the message syntax and semantic validation rules of the latest SWIFT Standard Release Guide. Supported integration environments include IBM WebSphere, IBM WebSphere MQ Integrator, Microsoft BizTalk Server, Microsoft Commerce Server, Oracle 9iAS, and Oracle 9iAS InterConnect.
Maximum Interoperability
The iWay SWIFT Adapter can transform SWIFT messages into SOAP WSDL, OAG BOD, other XML, other EDI formats and integrate with more than 200 other information assets; e.g., SAP R/3 back-office systems, DB2 databases, and front-office systems based on Sybase. XML templates are provided for the set of SWIFT ISO 15022 messages. iWay provides SWIFT eBusiness Adapters that map to the categories of SWIFT messages; e.g., the SWIFT Category 5 messages (MT5xx) for the securities industry; e.g., global straight through processing (GSTP), and real-time trade matching (RTTM) requirements.
Full XML Support
swiftML was created by SWIFT, which is an industry-owned cooperative providing messaging services to banks, broker-dealers, and investment managers as well as to market infrastructures in payments, treasury, securities, and trade. swiftML operates in the area of securities dealing confirmations, clearing, and settlement. It is part of the organization's SWIFTStandards initiative, which aims to correctly define various industry business standards using modeling techniques. In July 2001, SWIFT announced plans to team up with the FIX Protocol organization, which was developing an XML-based version of FIX. The collaboration centers around plans to converge their messaging protocols to create an XML-based version of the ISO 15022 protocol for securities message types.
iWay provides swiftML support with the iWay SWIFT Adapter. This adapter supports the non-XML message formats of SWIFT (ISO 7775) together with the new ISO 15022 XML message formats. The iWay Service Manager can also dynamically transform SWIFT ISO 7775 messages into SOAP WSDL XML for internal processing. This enables the use of XML for internal systems but still uses SWIFT ISO 7775 messages for communication across networks with trading counter-parties. Supported integration environments include IBM WebSphere, IBM WebSphere MQ Integrator, Microsoft BizTalk Server, Microsoft Commerce Server, Oracle 9iAS, and Oracle 9iAS InterConnect.
