iWay Service Designer, part of the iWay Service Manager suite, is a robust, comprehensive service composition tool that eliminates application dependencies. With iWay Service Designer, users can quickly and easily compose high-level, coarsely grained, business-oriented services from any low-level, finely-grained, application-oriented services.

An intuitive graphical interface allows designers to build services that include transformations, intelligent routing rules, exception handling, and finely grained service calls. These services can then be deployed for exposure as business services via the iWay Application Explorer.

This approach not only simplifies and accelerates service generation, it also ensures maximum reusability among all coarsely-grained and finely-grained services.

The runtime engine – the deployment platform for business services created in iWay Service Designer – is an event-driven, enterprise-class integration server that can be easily configured for specific runtime environments, and controlled locally or from any remote location by any authorized and authenticated user. All events, including service requests, will dynamically trigger deployed services. Upon receipt of an event message, iWay Service Manager moves it through a messaging pipeline – a series of processing steps and user exits – that facilitates appropriate processing, as well as custom processing, extensions, and changes to the operating environment.
