Using the keyword "contact" to trigger a search in SAP for customer contact details and PeopleSoft employee contact details, the phrase "contact BERLIN" finds contacts in SAP and PeopleSoft who are located in Berlin.
How It Works
Google OneBox for Enterprise is a feature of the Google Search Appliance that allows users to create modules that react to keywords. An example visible from google.com is the "QUOTE" module: if users search for "quote f" they will get the normal Google search response for "f" alongside an easy-to-use stock quote, chart, and links for Ford Motor Company.
The Google Search Appliance can be customized to accept other keywords. iWay Software's Universal Adapter Suite can automatically create XML-encoded metadata for services that it creates, and send this metadata to the Google Search Appliance for use in new Google OneBox for Enterprise modules. That allows users to create new Google OneBox for Enterprise modules from any call to any system that iWay can access – over 300 systems – without writing any custom integration code.
In addition, iWay Software's support for Google OneBox for Enterprise enables users to create complex services that interact with multiple systems at once, so that information can be derived rapidly from the most appropriate sources and delivered to the desktop at the right time.
