No-Code Integration to Legacy Transactions
iWay Transaction Adapters and Transaction Processor Data (TPData) Adapters make it simple and cost-effective to build new applications that reuse logic and data controlled by IBM CICS and IBM IMS/TM. iWay Transaction Adapters enable new applications to call transaction programs and work with native features and syntax of these enterprise transaction systems. For data-access applications, iWay TPData Adapters access VSAM or IMS data directly via the transaction environment and deliver requested data in relational format.
Reuse Business Logic and Minimize Overhead
iWay Transaction Adapters call existing transaction programs and expose the results in relational format, as if they came from a relational database. They support the programming languages of their target TP environment and work directly with target systems, passing parameters and accepting results via appropriate communications areas.
No adapter code needs to reside on the mainframe, although it can if desired. Also, the adapters do not require changes to transaction code, so iWay TP solutions can be deployed very rapidly and developers can start using them right away. iWay Transaction Adapters minimize adapter overhead in integration scenarios, creating a very lightweight and scalable solution for reusing existing TP business logic.
Efficient Access to Transaction-Controlled Data
For access to data controlled by CICS and IMS/TM, applications can use iWay Transaction Processor Data (TPData) Adapters. iWay TPData Adapters include prepackaged programs, controlled by the transaction processor, for efficiently accessing information contained in VSAM and IMS data stores. TPData Adapters eliminate the need to code custom transactions for accessing these data sources. iWay TPData Adapters can automatically extract their required metadata from COBOL copybooks.

TP integration can be a two-way street. Sometimes legacy transaction systems must incorporate existing logic or data from non-TP environments. iWay facilitates such hybrid applications with a connector that can be used inside these applications to access over 300 applications and data sources on 35 platforms, as well as all popular networks and messaging systems.
